Heart for Africa: Twilight Walk for Africa
The Backdrop
The spectacular Ko‘olau Mountains on the island of Oahu.
The Date
December 1, 2007, World AIDS Day.
4:30 PM – 7:30 PM
The Event
“Twilight Walk for Africa.” A walk to raise funds for orphanages and raise awareness of the tragic crisis African children face as AIDS robs them of parents, sisters, brothers, and futures.
The Place
Kaneohe Oahu, Hawaii.
The “Front Nine” Cart Path.
The Participants
Those who have a heart for Africa’s AIDS orphans form teams that will raise money to support the expansion of three orphanages: two in Swaziland and one in Kenya.
The Registration
Please register your team online at www.walkforafricahawaii.com as soon as possible. We can only take 500 walkers. There is no limit to the amount each team can raise as team members ask for pledges for their walk.
No team? Individuals are more than welcome to gather pledges and walk, too.
The Plan
Walkers will gather with their teams in front of the Ko‘olau Golf Club to register at 4:30 PM. At 5:15 PM a prayer for the victims of the HIV/AIDS pandemic opens the event. At 5:30, teams will “walk into the night”with their flashlights for a moving vigil.
*Walkers will gather at the end of the walk for refreshments and Aloha.
